PM until early in the morning on Monday, March 3. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) apologizes for the significant inconvenience caused by this outage. TWIMS is available and functioning normally at this time. The timing of the outage over the last weekend of March primarily impacted Texas deer breeders in two ways: 1.) Transfer permits could not be activated as usual through TWIMS, therefore deer breeders were instructed by a message posted on the TWIMS home page to call the LE Communications office in order to receive a temporary authorization so that breeder deer could be moved during the outage. Also, previously activated transfer permits could not be completed over the weekend, causing the permit status to become Overdue. Deer breeders attempting to access their unused unique numbers in order to tag fawns before the March 3. If you were impacted by the TWIMS outage in any way, please read the information below. TRANSFER PERMITS: If you called in to LE Communications in order to activate a temporary transfer permit authorization during the outage, you will receive an email notification from TWIMS once Deer Breeder Program staff have successfully created the official transfer permit in TWIMS. This permit will reflect the correct date and time of the transfer, as that information was indicated to LE Communications. If a deer list was provided to LE Communications, it will be updated on the official transfer permit. Once the deer list is accurate, please complete the permit as normal through TWIMS. Please complete this permit at your earliest possible convenience but no later than by 5 PM on Friday April 4, 2. Please do not be concerned if the permit status is listed as Overdue as this will be resolved when your information is updated in TWIMS. FAWN TAGGING: If you were unable to tag fawns by the March 3. TWIMS was unavailable and as a result TPWD issued unique numbers could not be accessed, please log on to TWIMS to retrieve a list of your available, unused unique numbers and properly tag all fawns at your earliest possible convenience but no later than Monday, April 1. TPWD LE will not begin enforcement before April 1. Please keep in mind that fawns are not required to be reported in your online TWIMS inventory until your annual report is submitted with your permit renewal application. The annual report and permit renewals will become available to complete through TWIMS in early April and are due by May 1. Additional information regarding permit renewals will be sent out via email shortly.
